About the breed
Curious, clever, and friendly, the Burmese cat is described as having a sweet expression in the breed standard, and has a nature to match if raised and socialised well. Very playful and engaging, the Burmese will learn to retrieve toys, and will delight in playing with their family. Burmese cats are very social and affectionate, needing a lot of attention and interaction. They thrive on human companionship and may be prone to separation anxiety if left alone for extended periods. It's often recommended to get two Burmese cats to provide each other company, especially if the owner works long hours. Their vocalizations are typically soft and raspy, but they are generally vocal only when they want attention or food.
